Located in North Yorkshire, Grewelthorpe is the rural village where Sunnyside Cottage is located. Its a quaint Yorkshire village, comprising of a small community. At the heart of the village is a village pub, the Crown Inn, a traditional Yorkshire pub. There is also a village hub directly opposite the cottage, which is home to the Hackfall cafe serving freshly made cakes, bacon sandwiches and delicious coffees. The Hall has a strong calendar of events, from live music events, to Yoga classes there is always something exciting to get involved with.

Grewelthorpe is a really welcoming village, our guest reviews regularly mention the warm welcome guests have received when trying out the local amenities.

Grewelthorpe doesn't just have great cakes at the Hackfall Cafe and a nice pint at the village pub, it also boasts 120 acres of free woodland - Hackfall. Located just 10 minutes on foot from the cottage the woods offer follies, waterfalls, ruins, fountains, a lake and amazing views along with a riverside beach - perfect for exploring. Dogs love the opportunity to run free and the woods are very much a hidden secret, you can roam for miles, crossing stepping stones and listening to the sounds of the birds and not see another soul.

If you enjoy cycling, the cottage is wonderfully located. The Himalayan Garden just 10 minutes by bike, up a long single track lane - offering impressive countryside views as you cycle. Open in the Summer months, this private garden offers a wonderful opportunity to experience beautiful gardens, sculpture, a children's play space and a lovely cafe. A summers evening spent here is a wonderful way to tire the children before a downhill cycle home!

Nearby - within 5 minutes by car is Swinton Estate, boasting the impressive Swinton Castle Hotel, with its beautiful parkland, deer and kitchen gardens. Bivouac is on the estate and hosts an amazing cafe offering a really unique experience, walk the druids temple before having lunch at the cafe and admiring the far reaching views.

Sunnyside cottage offers you the opportunity to immerse in the Countryside, enjoy long walks in the fresh air, admire the views, cycle, run, walk, get the dog muddy and just have a wonderful time enjoying all that Mother Nature has bestowed on us.
