We stayed at the cottage as a group, 4 adults and a 1 year old. There is plenty of room to keep everyone happy, beds were comfy, a great shower and a nice big bath that my 1 year old was very happy splashing about in! The cottage was clean, beautifully decorated and the hosts included blankets and hot water bottles on the beds incase anyone got chilly, as cottages can be a bit cooler in winter. However the log burner kept us cosy and warm! The village is small but lovely, local walks are easily accessible. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again, and would love to go back in warmer months to do a bit more exploring!
We had a fabulous time here, the village is very pretty and it was great to have the walks into Hackfall right from the doorstep which was great for walking our dog. The cottage itself has beautiful decor (especially the bathroom) and is really comfortable. We were really cosy and warm despite even having a dusting of snow during our stay. We had great communication from our hosts both before and during our stay. Thankyou!
Such a beautiful cottage 😍 it was stylish, cosy and clean! Such an amazing place to spend a long weekend, the village is small, but just what you need when you’re use to working in the city. Good dog walks locally, the Hackfall walk is a must! We also can’t thank Michelle and Clive enough, we struggled to get the fire lit one evening, and they were more than happy to come and get it going for us! Everything you could need and more for a weekend away! We loved it so much and will definitely be back and recommend to family and friends!
What is your cancellation policy?
By booking with us direct you have the advantage of being able to speak with us directly, if you have to cancel we offer free cancellation up until 21 days before your stay, after this time we will charge 50% cancellation fee between 21 days and 7 and within 7 days the full amount will be charged.
What do you offer for Children?
Its important that a holiday is fun for all the family. We offer all the essential items you would expect Highchair, childrens plates and cutlery & a travel cot.
Can I bring my dog and do you charge extra?
Yes, furry friends are encouraged at the cottage, as dog owners ourselves we know how hard it can be to find luxury accomodation thats dog friendly. We are proud to be dog friendly, you can bring up to 2 small dogs or 1 medium dog. A charge of £15 per dog per stay is payable upon booking.
What are the check in and check out times?
Check-in time is from 3 PM, and check-out is by 10 AM. For your convenience, you can also request early check-in from 2 PM or a late check-out at 11 AM for just £20 each when you book.
Do you offer breakfast?
We offer Breakfast Baskets, they cost an extra £10 per person and include fresh homemade bread, local butter, jam, pastries and fruit, along with a selection of Yorkshire produce including sausages, bacon and eggs. Add this to your booking and the basket will be waiting for you upon arrival.
Can you arrange a surprise for a special occasion?
We absolutely can and would be delighted to do so, drop us an email and with your plans and we will do our best to assist
Why should I book direct?
By booking direct there is no commission to pay to a third party platform, meaning we can offer the cottage cheaper and you are helping to support a small business .
Do you offer parking?
The village has plenty of free on street parking, you can park directly outside the cottage on the roadside, its just a case of finding a space!
What is the community charge?
Introducing our community charge, a new feature coming in September 2025! When you book directly with us, a small charge will be made on your behalf, allowing us to invest back into our local each year. It’s another great reason to book direct—plus, you’ll find that our rates are still cheaper than booking through other platforms.
